We are currently running operations out of Snowshoe Lodge. When you arrive in Sheridan, WY (two days before the hunt is to begin), we will make sure you are picked up at the airport and transported to your Motel. Powder Horn Outfitters will make the Motel arrangements for you, but the cost of the room is not included in the hunt fee. The next day you will be taken into camp and the hunt will start the following day. All of the camps are ranch-style houses. Some have running water and some do not. The availability of tent camps changes from year to year. At this time, there are no tent camps available. A sleeping bag is needed for all the camps (except for Snowshoe lodge). Hunting accommodations include food, cabins, five full days of hunting, transportation of meat and mounts to the nearest processing plant or taxidermist, two hunters per guide, unless you prefer a 1-on-1 hunt which will be priced higher. Additional costs that are not included in the Hunt Fee Non-resident hunting license to begin the hunt
Items you will need to bring As you will see in our Showcase, the terrain and weather can very greatly. The type of clothing you bring can depend on the hunt you go on and the time of year. But here are the basics: • Rifle and ammunition (243 caliber or larger, sighted for 300 yards) • Fluorescent orange jacket or coat • Sleeping bag • Hunting boots (leather and waterproof a must!) Two pair is a good idea, one insulated for cold weather and one normal weight. If bringing only one pair, be prepared for cold, wet weather • Bring warm clothing, layers are best, as they can be shed away. |
